Google Desktop Search

Google just released a beta version of their Google Desktop Search Download. I've installed it on my machine and waited for it to index it. This thing is unreal. Searches come up instantly. Now I can find stuff on my computer quicker than ever before. I will no longer be opening Windows Explorer to find files. Google Desktop Search is HERE!!!

Hotel Internet Access

So, I'm sitting in my hotel room in Fayetteville, NC and my room has free high speed internet access (~300K). Since I didn't bring a Cat5 cable with me, the hotel was nice enough to loan me one for a $25 deposit. This room has a desk and a bed. The internet connection is by the bed, not the desk. The cable the loaned me is only about six feet long, no where NEAR long enough to reach the desk. I find this interesting. Did they figure out that most people would rather lay in bed and surf rather than sit at the desk? I'm just glad that the hotel has high speed internet access even if it is slower than my cable modem at home. The odd thing is that from what I can tell, this is the only hotel in Fayettevill, NC that has "high speed" internet connections in the rooms. That's what sold me. I wonder if there is a site somewhere that lists hotels in different cities with high speed internet access. If there is, I'd like to know the URL. I'd choose those hotels everytime. If there isn't, there should be one. Hmmm. Not ANOTHER idea for a website. I've already got too many than I know what to do with. :)

Can you tell, I'm bored in a hotel room? Commercials will do that to ya. I don't watch commercials at home so I don't know what to do with myself when they come on (I've got two PVRs in my living room).

I've approved this message

What is the deal with the political ads? When I heard Lyndon LaRouche putting his radio ads on the air I thought he was nuts because he begain every ad by saying "This is Lyndon LaRouche, I've approved the following message". Now it seems like every ad I hear has the candidate saying "I've approved this message". If I see the candidate talking to the camera during the ad the I pretty much figured out that they approved the message. Why do they need to use these magic words? Maybe it's just me but it gets old after a while.

Mitch Allan Central

Here's my other site: Mitch Allan Central.

SR-71 Central

I'd be remiss if I didn't list my main website: SR-71 Central.

Mom

I had a nice conversation with my Mom tonight. Usually when I talk to my mom she makes me feel guilty for not sending her pictures of my daughter or not calling more often. This leads to me calling her less often because I don't really want to feel guilty and not calling delays that feeling. It's kind of a viscious cycle. If I call I feel guilty for not sending pictures and if I don't call I feel guilty for not calling AND for not sending pictures. Anyway, hopefully I will be spending spring break with my mother in Key West. Hopefully this works as planned but who knows. I'll keep you posted.
